When replacing a driver, it is important to know if the original driver is a class 2 or non-class 2 driver.
• Class 2: Driver meets the limitations of < 100W and < 60V and has gone through additional verification during the agency certification to conform to Class 2 requirements
• Non-Class 2 (also sometimes referred to as Class 1): Class 1 drivers have higher wattage and/or higher voltage than class 2 drivers
RULE: you must replace a class 2 driver with another class 2 driver.
