As we adjust to this new “normal” and get back into our indoor spaces, an extra layer of disinfection is critical. Our application and design professionals are here to help. We will assess your facility to identify potential areas for UV-C, and work with you to customize a solution with the right products, light output, dosage, optimum installation position, mounting height, angle and controls system functionality, so you can continue your operations and provide service to customers in an environment that is designed with safety in mind.
The following Alkco germicidal UV luminaires and solutions are now available to order, and can be used to help disinfect air, surfaces and objects.
Air disinfection product solutions: Active during occupied hours
Our Alkco wall- and ceiling-mounted UV-C luminaires continuously help disinfect the air. The light source is angled upwards from the fixtures and installed at a high height away from people. These luminaires are ideal for use in high-contact areas and where people congregate. Product families include Germicidal UV 2x2 Grid Ceiling Mount, Germicidal UV Indirect Industrial, Germicidal UV Indirect Wall and Germicidal UV Louvered Wall Mount.
Surface disinfection solutions: Direct with no human or animal life presence
These ceiling-mounted UV-C luminaires can be controlled automatically to disinfect areas outside of businesses’ operating hours and when people and animals are not present. They must be used as instructed and with appropriate UL safeguards, such as the Philips Dynalite control system. The Germicidal UV Strip and High Bay luminaires should always be used by professionals in accordance with safety requirements and instructions to avoid exposure since it can damage the skin and eyes.
The Alkco germicidal luminaires and controls solutions are UL 1598 certified, meeting requirements for the safe and effective installation, operation and maintenance of UV-C equipment.

1 Data made available to us by the National Emerging Infectious Diseases Laboratories (NEIDL) at Boston University (to be the subject of a forthcoming scientific publication) shows that Signify’s UV-C light sources irradiating the surface of a material inoculated with SARS-CoV-2 (the virus that causes the COVID-19 disease) resulted in a 99% reduction of the SARS-CoV-2 virus at a UV-C dose of 5mJ/cm2 (exposure time 6 seconds). This study further determined that a 99.9999% reduction of the SARS-CoV-2 virus would result from applying a UV-C dose of 22mJ/cm2 (exposure time 25 seconds). Research variables are available upon request.
