Public lighting renewal in Roztoky

The city of Roztoky modernized its public lighting with Signify LED technology

 

Smart LED lighting with Interact remote management in Roztoky has provided safer streets, lower costs, and a more environmentally friendly approach.  

The project delivered 74% energy savings, annual savings of CZK 200,000, and improved safety. In addition, thanks to the Interact City system, we have control over when and where lighting is needed. "

Customer challenge

 

The original public lighting in Roztoky was outdated, had high energy consumption, and produced excessive light pollution, increasing costs and negatively affecting the environment and residents’ well-being. 

 

The city was looking for a solution aligned with modern standards and environmental criteria, respecting the appearance of public space while enabling future integration of smart systems. 

 

The project had to be implemented quickly without significant disruption, ensuring precise planning, cost calculation, and flexible coordination with suppliers.  

Solution

For the modernization, Philips DigiStreet, CitySoul, ClassicStreet, and Villa LED luminaires were used, predominantly DigiStreet (BGP76x) with optical efficiency up to 90%, directing light downward and equipped with shields to reduce light spill.  
Warm white light was used: 2200 K for parks and quiet zones, 2700 K for main routes and side streets, reducing light pollution and ensuring comfortable color perception.
The Interact City system enabled remote control, dimming, predictive maintenance, and rapid response to faults.
