Dynamic lighting- the fourth dimension of architecture

Dynamic light, as the fourth dimension of architecture, is not a show, it is light that changes, as natural light changes, how everything changes in this fast-paced world that we are living today.

Today, every lighting system, automated or not, is light in motion. If the light does not change, the elements that inhabit the space change. We are beings in constant movement.

Both in RGB color movement and in white tone movement like natural light does. The variable of time, in lighting design, is already one more tool to design with light, and not an element to plan in the end. The lighting scenes are applied both for the annual programming of a facade and for the lighting of a room in a building or the lighting of a public square. Of course, it can be done in the interactive lighting environment, but it is not the only way.

The most interesting thing is to see how dynamic lighting affects our senses. It changes our lives.

Sabrina Mandel, is an architect, lighting designer and professor at the University of Buenos Aires in the Faculty of architecture design and urbanism. She loves light and has worked with dynamic LED facades projects for the last 15 years in five countries. She defines herself as a woman in lighting.

As an enthusiastic advocate for the development of research and innovation in lighting design and engineering, she strives to achieve a more robust integration between architecture and dynamic light so that it is more naturally conceived by architects and artists.
