In the latest City Lighting Assessment Report, developed by the Urban Transitions Mission and in collaboration with Signify and the Global Covenant of Mayors for Climate & Energy, explores how city leaders are using lighting to accelerate climate action, enhance livability, and build resilience.
Drawing on a global survey and dialogue with city representatives, the report reveals how cities are advancing their lighting transitions and contributing to broader climate and energy goals - highlighting both the progress made and the challenges that remain.
The findings show how LED and connected lighting can drive rapid, scalable impact by reducing emissions, improving public safety, and creating healthier, more liveable urban environments. It also outlines the collaboration and capabilities needed to unlock light’s full potential for sustainable urban transformation.
