Signify BrightSites delivers Broadband Connectivity to Cardiff’s City Centre

This project is a collaborative effort between Signify, Cardiff Council, and Telet Research. Utilizing Signify’s BrightSites solution, this initiative aims to provide robust public Wi-Fi and a private 5G network within Cardiff’s city centre and market area.

The Opportunity

The Solution

Signify's BrightSites solution utilizes existing streetlights to create a connectivity platform that delivers high-speed internet in a sustainable and efficient manner. By transforming streetlights into broadband hubs, BrightSites provides a city-wide data network enabling public Wi-Fi and a private 5G network, offering seamless internet connectivity to residents, businesses, and tourists. This project significantly improves internet access in densely populated areas, supporting the local economy by enhancing services and boosting sales.
