    LAX is the world’s fourth busiest airport, serving over 87 million passengers in 2018 across its multiple terminals. This project was designed to create striking entrance pylons and a dramatic, color-changing roadway façade, which was designed by Horton Lees Brogden.

    Natural History Museum
    Los Angeles, United States


    For its 100th anniversary, the Los Angeles Natural History Museum underwent a renovation that greets patrons with an actual size fin whale skeleton suspended in mid-air. The whale, measuring 63 feet (19.2 m) and weighing in at an enormous 7,000 pounds (3,175 kg), lives in the Otis Booth Pavilion, a three-story glass enclosed entrance designed to look like a large aquarium. The system was designed by Dan Weinreber of Kaplan Gehring and McCarroll Architectural Lighting Designers using 50,000 LMX LED nodes to create a dramatice low resolution video wall.

    Hollywood Bowl, Los Angeles

    Lighting Designer Jay Winters was looking for a way to dramatically light the architecture of the famous Hollywood Bowl. The curved orchestral shell of the bowl provided a unique back drop for the orchestra and Color Kinetics Cove Luminaires provided the perfect tool to create a new look for the bowl. The rich color palette of the luminaires provides the design team a broad set of tools to enhance each production.
