Today’s world calls for more connected and sustainable solutions. Responding to the needs of the market and our customers, Signify has decided to update its EnabLED licensing program for LED-based luminaires and retrofit bulbs.
As of 1 September, 2022 new patent families have been added to the EnabLED licensing program for LED-based luminaires and retrofit bulbs. This upgrade offers licensees access to 600 inventions covered by more than 4700 granted patents. A broad variety of technologies has been added to the portfolio, including for example, connectivity technologies like antennas, commissioning, smart control and sensoring. Also included are patents related to dynamic lighting, quality of light, and enhancement of longevity through better thermal management and mechanical solutions.
While new licensees can enjoy the upgraded patent portfolio immediately, existing licensees can also benefit by amending their existing contract. Licensees that sign such an amendment by 31 January 2023 will have their past use of these added patents waived through 31 August 2022.
