This summer Signify employee Marion Matheussen-van Vugt retired after a remarkable fifty years with the company
In 1969, John Lennon and Yoko Ono tied the knot in Gibraltar and Neil Armstrong became the first man on the moon. That same year, in Eindhoven, a young woman named Marion Matheussen got her first job. Little did she know then that she would spend her entire 50-year career at the same company: Philips Lighting/Signify.
It was her father, who was himself an employee at Philips, who told her “take a job at Philips, and you’ll be well looked after.” How right he was.
