Natural daylight access is often limited in intensive care units, while patients may spend extended periods in these environments and caregivers work around the clock. For AZ Groeninge, enhancing the healing environment was just as important as delivering the best possible care. AZ Groeninge sought an integrated solution which contributes to such environment.

Solution

AZ Groeninge partnered with Signify to combine NatureConnect and VitaUp in a ICU patient room. NatureConnect simulates natural daylight with a view to the sky, while VitaUp delivers safe UVB light to boost vitamin D production.
