    Driving sustainability in our operations

Our Sustainable operations program focuses on reducing our carbon footprint, improving the environmental and safety performance of our manufacturing facilities, and aims to reduce the amount of waste that ends up in landfills. We employ energy efficiency measures and renewable energy in our efforts to ensure a healthy future for generations to come.

Increasing the environmental performance of our operations

In 2020, we achieved carbon neutrality in our operations and realized our zero manufacturing waste to landfill commitment. In addition, we have programs in place to aim for a yearly reduction of 5% for our water usage and hazardous waste.

In our Brighter Lives, Better World 2025 program, we continue and strengthen these programs and even go beyond by doubling our positive impact on the environment and society.

    Our renewable energy journey

As we want to continue leading the change and make our operations future proof, we are committed to switching from fossil-fuel based energy to renewable energy. We joined the Climate Group’s EV100 Initiative in 2018 and committed to operate a lease fleet of hybrid and fully electric vehicles (EVs) by 2030. In 2020, we achieved our commitment to source 100% of our electricity from renewable sources. We are a member of RE100 and  we invested in Power Purchase Agreements in the US and in Poland to ensure our operations in these countries are powered by renewable electricity. Watch the video announcing our VPPA in Poland.

    Certification

Since 2014, we’ve had multi-site certificates for ISO 14001 and ISO 45001. The ISO 14001 certificate is based on our environmental programs. The ISO 45001 certificate covers safety programs where more preventive measures will create a safer and healthier workplace for our employees. The foundation for these programs is based on legal compliance requirements. We set even higher performance requirements in our policies.
