Philips Hue expands portfolio with wired switches and Play lamps
Eindhoven, the Netherlands – Signify (Euronext: LIGHT), the world leader in lighting, today announced a new range Philips Hue smart lighting innovations, designed to give users more ways to personalize and control lighting throughout their homes.
The latest additions include wired switches that bring smart control to traditional lighting fixtures, new Philips Hue Play table and floor lamps for immersive entertainment experiences, and upgraded candle bulbs, featuring enhanced lighting performance and full-spectrum daylight technology.
Make your wall switch smart – and bring traditional lighting into the Hue ecosystem
The new Philips Hue Wired On/Off Switch and Wired Dimmer Switch allow users to control compatible non-smart lights alongside their Philips Hue smart lighting products through the Philips Hue app. 1 By bringing both traditional and smart lighting into a single ecosystem, users can manage more of their home's lighting from one place.
Beyond app control, users can also configure smart lighting behaviors directly from their wall switch, including scene cycling, turning a traditional switch into a smart control point for the home.

Philips Hue is also introducing a new Wired Wall Switch Module for Philips Hue lights. Unlike battery-powered versions, the wired module doesn’t require a battery, which ensures Philips Hue lights remain powered and connected.
The Wired Wall Switch Module offers a key advantage: traditional wall switches cut power to smart bulbs, causing them to lose connectivity and return to default settings when switched back on. The Wired Wall Switch Module keeps Philips Hue lights connected continuously, so users can control them through the Philips Hue app even when using the wall switch. The last selected scene or lighting setting is then maintained and doesn’t revert to default settings.
Together, these new solutions make it easier to bring more lighting throughout the home into the Philips Hue ecosystem, whether using Philips Hue bulbs, traditional lights, or a combination of both.1
Elevate your entertainment experience with new Philips Hue Play lamps
Philips Hue is introducing three new entertainment lighting products: the Philips Hue Play table lamp, Philips Hue Play floor lamp compact and Philips Hue Play floor lamp large.
Designed to make Hue Entertainment more accessible, the new Play lamps help extend lighting effects beyond the TV screen, that can make viewing, gaming, and music feel more immersive in your space.
Whether positioned next to a TV, beside a sofa or elsewhere in the room, the lamps deliver dynamic lighting effects that synchronize with movies, games and music. Available in multiple form factors and designed for flexible placement, the new additions make it even easier to enjoy synchronized lighting in any way they want to elevate their space and setup.
The lamps work seamlessly with the Philips Hue ecosystem and can be paired with the Philips Hue Play HDMI Sync Box or the Philips Hue Sync TV and PC apps to create lighting effects that move in sync with on-screen content and music.
