Eindhoven, the Netherlands – Signify (Euronext: LIGHT), the world leader in lighting, today announced that its Trulifi 6004 system is the first Light Fidelity (LiFi) technology to receive FIPS 140-3 validation—an advanced cryptographic security standard issued by the U.S. National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST). This milestone makes Trulifi 6004 the only LiFi solution validated to meet FIPS 140-3 requirements, which are widely recognized in both public and private sectors as the benchmark for securing sensitive and business-critical data.

As cyber threats become more complex, organizations are looking for innovation beyond the status quo. LiFi, which uses light rather than radio waves to transmit data, offers a fundamentally different approach to connectivity. By confining transmissions to the physical boundaries of a room and avoiding radio frequency exposure, LiFi greatly reduces the potential for eavesdropping and interference. FIPS 140-3 validation provides assurance that Trulifi 6004’s cryptographic module meets the highest standards in protecting data confidentiality and integrity. It also signals growing maturity in the LiFi market - positioning it not just as a futuristic concept, but as a viable and secure option for today’s enterprises.
Trulifi 6004, designed for rapid installation and deployment, uses invisible infrared light to create secure point-to-multipoint wireless links for highly secure areas. Each Trulifi 6004 access point can connect up to 16 users without relying on traditional WiFi or cellular signals, making it ideal for spaces where RF communication is restricted, unreliable, or undesirable - from hospitals and financial institutions to secure offices and high-tech manufacturing floors. In addition to being inherently more secure, the system is scalable and quick to install, helping IT teams enhance infrastructure resilience without significant disruption.
As organizations are confronted with growing digital risks, from data breaches to network vulnerabilities, the need for more secure wireless infrastructure has never been more urgent. By delivering a robust, standards-validated alternative to traditional wireless networks, Signify is helping to redefine how businesses think about secure connectivity in the age of digital risk.
