    September 5, 2019

Eindhoven, Netherlands – Signify (Euronext: LIGHT), the world leader in lighting, is unveiling a suite of new bulbs and smart accessories from smart lighting brand Philips Hue at a special event during IFA, including filament bulbs, smart plugs, smart buttons and more, to help bring connected lighting to all homes.

We’re committed to making connected lighting more accessible and want to provide people with greater choice when it comes to the connectivity, control, ambiance and aesthetics of their lights. We are proud to introduce a variety of new and updated products including the new Philips Hue Smart plug, Philips Hue Smart button and the updated Philips Hue Go portable smart lamp with Bluetooth capability, in addition to our first-ever Philips Hue Filament bulb."

The Filament bulb: the smart bulb, dressed to impress

Combine the convenience of smart lighting with the beauty of the popular Edison-style bulb with the new collection of amber-coated smart filament bulbs from Philips Hue. Available in three shapes (availability dependent on location), the Philips Hue Filament bulbs provide the same control, functionality and ambiance capabilities offered by the Philips Hue ecosystem but with a more stylish design.

Smart accessories for a smarter home

Two new smart accessories allow you to connect and control your home lighting system like never before. The Philips Hue Smart plug allows you to connect any lamp — even one in which you cannot place a smart bulb — to your Philips Hue system.

The Philips Hue Smart button, a small and unassuming button with a magnetic base, lets you control your smart lights with just one touch and customize it to your needs.

New and improved Hue Go, built-in and recessed spot lights, GU10 spots and E14 bulbs

The updated Philips Hue Go portable smart lamp gives users broader control thanks to its additional Bluetooth capability and improved battery life. With the updated Hue Go, you can bring your portable smart light to any destination and control it with the free Hue Bluetooth app.

The new Fugato and Argenta build-on and Philips Hue White and color ambiance Centura recessed spot lights add a touch of modern to any room, and the new white and color ambiance GU10 spot light bulbs allow you to bring colorful light to your new or existing built-in spots and recessed light fixtures. The E14 candle bulbs are now available in White, bringing you even more choice when selecting your smart lighting.

Extended Adore range for bathroom lighting

The extended range of Philips Hue Adore bathroom light fixtures offers more choice to create the perfect lighting in your bathroom. With the new recessed spot starter pack and a large and small version of a slender, horizontal mirror light— all of which include a handy Philips Hue Dimmer switch — you can set just the right light for any moment of your day using the four light recipes.

    New Friends of Hue partnerships

Signify is announcing two new global partnerships for Philips Hue; Hansgrohe and Yale.

From the beginning of 2020, Philips Hue will be integrated with Hansgrohe’s newest innovation RainTunes. RainTunes combines water, sound, light, moving image and scent to create a customized and invigorating shower experience. The product is transforming what the bathroom of today can be: a supremely restorative space of sanctuary where a perfect light plays a key role. Together with Yale, we enhance our consumers safety and demonstrate the key role of light. The integration of our lights with Yale discourages would-be burglars whilst giving homeowners visual reassurance that their home is protected.

For those who would like a wider range of accessories and find the perfect light switch to match their home décor, the Friends of Hue switch program keeps expanding too. In collaboration with Gira, the German start-up Senic is introducing wireless and battery-free Friends of Hue switches for easy control of your Philips Hue lights. And to bring the convenience of smart switches to even more markets, we are also partnering with Nodon in France, and with Jumitech in Denmark. Another introduction in Germany is the Hidden Socket (Versteckdose) by TCS (soon to be available in The Netherlands and UK), offering users a hidden power socket in combination with a Friends of Hue smart switch

In total, we are proud to have ten different Friends of Hue smart switch partners now offering the convenience of smart switches to many consumers around Europe and US. All switches are battery-free due to energy harvesting technology and integrate fully into the Philips Hue system for easy set up and control.
