VDL ETG Singapore, part of the Dutch VDL Groep, designs and manufactures high‑tech components, modules and systems for the semiconductor industry. With over 30,000 m² of production space and 800+ employees, the team needed a lighting approach that matched its sustainability ambitions for a new state‑of‑the‑art facility—reducing energy use and CO₂ while maintaining comfort and safety.

The Solution

To align with VDL’s sustainability and innovation goals, Signify deployed Interact, an advanced connected lighting solution enabling remote management, real-time monitoring, and data-driven preventive maintenance. Over 1,500 connected luminaires were installed across warehouse and office spaces, creating a cohesive lighting ecosystem. Interact’s wireless design allowed quick installation, reduced cabling costs, and lowered environmental impact. Features like daylight harvesting and occupancy sensing optimize usage, achieving up to 50% energy savings compared to standard LED while ensuring optimal illumination. Its scalable architecture prepares VDL for future facility expansion, fostering long-term resilience.
