    Circular economy

    Earth is circular.

    Lighting should be circular, too.

In 2022, we used 1.7 times the resources our planet can sustain. To transition to a sustainable and circular economy, we need to rethink the way we produce and consume. There’s no plan B for our home planet.

At Signify, we’re on a mission to make people’s lives brighter and to create a better world with environmentally friendly light. For this reason, we’re driving the development of eco-friendly products that can be reprinted, refurbished, reused, and recycled.

We aim to double our revenues from circular products, systems, and services to 32% by the end of 2025. We’re committed to more sustainable packaging, phasing out plastics from all consumer packaging, and sending zero waste to landfill. We also have programs in place to aim for a yearly reduction of 5% for our water usage and hazardous waste.

We need to transform our system

The current linear method of production is exhausting the planet’s resources and producing ever more waste. Lighting for circularity is ringing in a new era and enabling the shift from a linear to a circular economy.

    3D-printed luminaires

Our 3D-printed luminaires are serviceable, modular, and easily upgradable.

Our choice of materials and production methods is guided by our commitment to reducing waste and minimizing environmental impact. Our Coastal Breeze collection, for example, is 3D-printed using discarded fishing nets for cleaner oceans and a low carbon footprint. We reduce waste throughout the production process by eliminating mass production and stockpiling. We recycle in-house and reuse rejected parts that did not pass our quality control.
