Signify continued to extend its industry-leading IP portfolio with a record year for submissions in 2022, placing in the top 10 European-headquartered companies, first in the lighting industry, and climbing to 22nd worldwide in the European Patent Office (EPO) rankings.
Signify's patent applications break new ground in sustainable innovations, including energy-efficient light sources and smart lighting systems for professionals, consumers, and municipalities. The patents filed in 2022 reflect the company's long-term commitment to many dimensions of sustainability including horticultural lighting to protect food availability, circular production including 3D printing, and light that optimizes people's health and well-being.
