    Board of Management

    The Board of Management is responsible for the day-to-day management of Signify. The Board of Management is composed of the following members.

    Eric Rondolat

    Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and Chairman of the Board of Management

    Eric Rondolat has held the position of Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of the Board of Management at Signify since the company was listed on the Euronext Amsterdam stock exchange in May 2016. He was Executive Vice President and Chief Executive Officer for Lighting at Philips from April 2012 to May 2016.

     

    Before Philips, Eric held the position of Executive Vice President for Asia Pacific at Schneider Electric in China from 2010 to 2012 and Executive Vice President for the Power Business at Schneider Electric in France from 2006 to 2010. He worked in various senior management positions at Schneider Electric in Australia, Argentina, France and Singapore from 1990 to 2006.

     

    Eric, a French and Italian national, holds an Engineering degree at the Institut National Polytechnique de Grenoble and a master’s degree in International Marketing at Ecole Supérieure de Commerce de Grenoble, both in France.

    René van Schooten

    Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and Member of the Board of Management

    René van Schooten has held the position of Chief Financial Officer (CFO)1 ad interim from March 2020. Over the coming months he will work closely together with his successor, Francisco Javier van Engelen Sousa, to ensure a thorough business onboarding and a smooth transition. This is expected to be completed with the closure of Q3 in October.

     

    René has also been a Member of the Board of Management since the company’s listing on the Euronext Amsterdam stock exchange in May 2016.

     

    Previously René was the leader for Business Groups Lamps and Home and held overall responsibility for the company’s Business Groups. He also was Chief Financial Officer (CFO) from October 2015 to August 2016 during the company’s separation from Philips and subsequent initial public offering. Before that, he worked as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) for Professional Luminaires and as CFO for Lighting and the Lamps Business.

     

    Before Philips, René held various financial roles at Unilever in the United Kingdom and the Netherlands from 1988 to 1999, and Esso in the United Kingdom and the Netherlands from 1982 to 1988.

     

    René, a Dutch national, holds a Masters degree in Industrial Engineering and Management Science at Eindhoven University of Technology, in the Netherlands.

    Javier van Engelen

    Chief Financial Officer (CFO)1

    Javier van Engelen has been Chief Financial Officer (CFO)2 at Signify since June 2020. Signify will propose the appointment of Javier to the Board of Management at an Extraordinary General Meeting of Shareholders (EGM), to be held later in 2020.

    Before Signify, he has held financial leadership positions at international FMCG, retail and pharmaceutical companies in listed, family owned and private equity environments. He most recently held the position of CFO for Grupo Telepizza, a EUR 1.2 billion food operator, ultimately leading the process to take the company private in 2019.

    Prior to this, he was CFO of Jerónimo Martins, a EUR 15 billion listed food retailing company with over 90,000 employees. Javier also has a solid manufacturing and M&A background, stemming from the start of his career at Procter & Gamble, and subsequent CFO roles at AstraZeneca and Triumph International.

    A Belgian and Portuguese national, Javier holds a master’s degree in Economics from the Antwerp International Business School in Belgium.

    Maria Letizia Mariani

    Member of the Board of Management

    Maria Letizia Mariani has been member of the Board of Management at Signify since May 2020. She has also been the Division Leader for Conventional Products since May 2020 and Chief Marketing Officer and Head of Strategy since March 2019.

    Before that, she was Market Group Leader Europe from 2013 to 2019 and Senior Vice President and General Manager Lighting, Italy, Israel & Greece from 2011 to 2013. Before Signify, Maria Letizia worked in various senior management positions at Hewlett-Packard in Italy and EMEA from 1989 to 2011. Before that, she worked at Apollo Computer and Xerox.

    Maria Letizia, an Italian national, holds a bachelor’s degree in Natural Sciences at the Università degli Studi di Roma ‘La Sapienza’, in Italy. She is non-executive and independent director of Prysmian Group.
