Jakarta – As people’s awareness energy-efficiency and environmental concerns increases, today’s lighting industry has gone through a period of transformation with Lighting Emitting Diodes (LEDs) to meet these sustainable requirements. Royal Philips Electronics, the world leader in health and wellbeing, demonstrated what light can do with the latest LED lighting solutions at IndoBuildTech, one of Indonesia’s biggest international building material exhibition.

“LED technology has opened up a myriad of possibilities in terms of its ability to reduce energy consumption while providing long-lasting light that's easy for your eyes Philips is committed to offer a meaningful and comprehensive LED lighting solution that contributes to better and sustained urban environments with 80 per cent less energy than halogen lighting, which then translates into cost savings on our electrical bills,” said Robert Fletcher, President Director of PT Philips Indonesia.”Another powerful proposition of Philips LED lighting is it enables consumers to enhance their homes to create dynamic living spaces through the innovative use of lighting solutions.”

As the global player with capabilities throughout the value chain- from developing die, single package to luminaires systems projects, Philips offers a new range of ambient LED lighting solutions that presents superior quality and making it a hassle-free experience to make the switch to Philips LED lighting solutions. Philips VisionLED Globe range is the new introduced product that provides comfortable, low-glare light for even task illumination requirements.

“The Philips House at the IndoBuildTech showcases ‘See What Light Can Do’ for both professional and consumer applications. LED lighting solutions are ideal for creating an ambient atmosphere and enhance the visual impact of a living space. More importantly, LED lighting solutions also offer comfortable, low glare light for the functional needs of a living space,” Said Fletcher.

“The trend of using LED lights will offer greater choices and move lighting from being a functional afterthought to becoming a core element of a building design to reflect the consumers’ lifestyle. At the exhibition, Philips can share examples of how LED lighting solutions have been used to enhance the ambience and decor of homes and offices across Indonesia.” Said Arie, a local lighting designer.

At the 2011 IndoBuildTech event, Philips holds a workshop for architects, interior designers and university students on LED technology.
