Signify's Light as a Service allows the National Union of Students (NUS) to have a sustainable lighting solution that keeps costs down.
The National Union of Students, London, UK
“Signify's Light as a Service lets us leave the responsibility for managing the lighting to those with the most expertise, while giving predictable costs over a 15 year period"
Jamie Agombar, Ethical Manager, NUS
Customer challenge
The new BREEAM Excellent office of the NUS needed a lighting system that helped save money as well as ensure only the light needed at any given time was used.
Solution
Under the Light as a Service (LaaS) agreement the lighting is monitored online with annual reporting back to NUS. The installed lighting delivers significant energy and carbon savings compared to traditional office lighting installations. All of the lighting is fully addressable and controllable with links to daylight and occupancy sensors. Sensor and dimming settings can be adjusted to fine-tune the control of the lighting in relation to any changes in building usage.
