Eindhoven, the Netherlands – Signify (Euronext: LIGHT), the global leader in smart lighting, introduces adaptive, intelligent new features for Philips Hue that represent the next evolution in how users experience, shape, and interact with light at home.
The Philips Hue Play wall washer makes entertainment lighting more immersive and design-forward than ever, while a new generative AI assistant gives users the power to create deeply personalized lighting that reflects their ever-changing moods, styles, and moments.
Philips Hue Play wall washer impresses with the light on or off
Today, Philips Hue introduces Play wall washer, an immersive wall washer that uses exclusive ColorCast projection technology to deliver vibrant, wide-angle gradients and lighting effects. Its elegant, compact aluminum form is designed to impress even when the light is off.
When syncing to games, movies, or music, the Play wall washer reacts in real time with rich full-color gradients and stunning effects. Hue's dynamic entertainment algorithm enhances realism and spatial immersion, while users can change the projection area by positioning the device closer or further from the wall. When not syncing, Play wall washer transitions seamlessly to premium ambient light, blending beautiful color with a modern look.
With its premium matte aluminum design and transparent projection window, Play wall washer is a cut above typical plastic entertainment lighting devices. More like a piece of beautifully designed furniture than a tech gadget, Play wall washer is truly lighting designed to be seen.
Philips Hue’s Play wall washer offers easy setup and control through the Hue ecosystem. Users can personalize features such as intensity, speed, brightness, and positioning. An intuitive 3D drag-and-drop feature in the Hue app enables precise customization of light positioning and direction. Hue Play wall washer works seamlessly with the Hue HDMI Sync box, TV and PC Sync apps, all Hue accessories, and voice assistants such as Amazon Alexa, Google Assistant, and Apple HomeKit.
The Play wall washer will be available in June 2025 in the US in white and black for USD $219.99 each and USD $384.99 for a two-pack, and in Canada in black for CAD $289.99 each and CAD $499.99 for a two-pack.
