Dubai, U.A.E. – Royal Philips Electronics (NYSE: PHG, AEX: PHI) will be showcasing its innovative HealWell patient-room lighting solution at the 2012 Hospital Build & Infrastructure Middle East Conference (HBME), which will be taking place from June 4th to June 6th at the Dubai International Exhibition Centre, Sheikh Rashid Hall.
Philips’ HealWell is a lighting solution for hospitals designed to help care providers enhance the healing environment in patient rooms. As a global leader in Lighting, Philips combines their expertise with their knowledge of lighting’s impact on health, to provide the benefits of natural daylight in the patient’s room.
Healwell is designed to automatically manage a daily rhythm of light, similar to the course of light on a sunny day, promoting the sleep-wake rhythm. In the afternoon and evening, the light levels decrease gradually, enabling patients to relax and prepare for sleep, elevating wellness and patient recovery.
“The Hospital Build & Infrastructure Conference is an important platform to Philips, as it offers us a fantastic opportunity to directly showcase our healthcare lighting solutions to those who are directly involved in developing and managing healthcare facilities,” said Paolo Cervini, General Manager of Philips Lighting Middle East & Turkey. “We are pleased to be part of this event that is growing rapidly each year and have the chance to demonstrate our innovative lighting solutions that focus on hospitals and the healing environment”, he adds.
In addition to showcasing the HealWell concept during the event, Philips will also be leading an educational workshop on ‘Sustainable Lighting Solutions for a Healing Environment’, as well as working with HBME to reduce the event’s carbon footprint, as part of Philips’ commitment to sustainability.
