Signify lit up the RHS Back to Nature Garden at last week’s RHS Chelsea Flower Show

    May 28, 2019

London, United Kingdom – Signify (Euronext: LIGHT), the world leader in lighting, proudly supported the 2019 RHS Chelsea Flower Show by exclusively providing the outdoor lighting for the bespoke RHS Back to Nature garden.

Products from the Philips Hue Outdoor range were used to light up the RHS Back to Nature Garden co-designed by HRH The Duchess of Cambridge and RHS Gold Medal Award winning landscape architects Andrèe Davies and Adam White of Davies White Ltd, at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show last week.

The garden was designed as a natural woodland space for families to get together, play, dig, grow plants, connect with nature and spend time in the great outdoors. The lighting was switched on during the evening for visitors and guests to enjoy the garden from dusk until dark. The lighting highlighted key elements including the trees, planting, tree house, stream and waterfall. Three different colour temperatures ranging from cool white to warm white were used to complement the blue and green colour palette of the garden, creating the perfect natural ambience.

Like all Philips Hue products, the Philips Hue outdoor range is fully compatible with the Philips Hue ecosystem and works in the same way as the indoor range. You can control your outdoor lighting, with the Philips Hue app or with voice control. With 16 million colours to choose from, you can personalise your lights to create any atmosphere in your garden whether it’s a magical place for the children to play or an impressive area to entertain your guests.

It goes without saying, we were beyond thrilled to be asked to support the RHS Back to Nature garden by RHS Gold Medal Award winning landscape architects Andrèe Davies and Adam White of Davies White Ltd. Outdoor lighting is a key element in landscape design. The right outdoor luminaires can transform gardens into glowing living spaces which can be enjoyed after dark."

“The key to successful landscape lighting is flexibility. Together with the help of the Philips Hue team, we were able to transform the garden into a space that everyone could enjoy throughout the evening” said designers Andrèe Davies and Adam White of Davies White Landscape Architects.
