Since 2015 we’ve delivered 1.7 billion LED lamps and luminaires, effectively avoiding more than 43 megatonnes of CO2 being emitted. This is part of the company’s commitment to deliver 2 billion LED lamps and luminaires by 2020.
Carbon neutral operations
In 2018, we announced our approved science-based targets, which will help us to continue transitioning to a low-carbon economy. In 2018, CO2 reductions of 49% were achieved year-on-year, resulting in a net carbon footprint of 146 kilotonnes CO2. In 2018 we procured 89% of our electricity from renewable sources.
Zero waste to landfill
In 2018, we reduced the amount of waste materials delivered to landfill by 17% compared with 2017 and 82% of our manufacturing waste was recycled.
Safe and healthy workplace
The Total Recordable Case (TRC) rate decreased to 0.29 per 100 FTEs, an improvement of 29% compared to 2017. 14 of our industrial units went through 2018 without any recordable injuries.
Sustainable supply chain
We achieved a supplier sustainability performance rate of 93% and 281 suppliers engaged on carbon reduction through the CDP Supply Chain program.
