Dublin, Ireland– The world’s first LED replacement for a 60 watt incandescent bulb has won a triple award at the Energy Show 2011, Ireland´s biggest annual showcase for sustainable energy technologies.
The dimmable 12 watt LED bulb picked up both the best innovation product award and highly commended award in the energy efficient category within the domestic sector as well as being honored with the overall product of the show award. After a rigorous judging process, the expert panel chose the bulb, known as Philips MASTER LEDbulb
inEurope, for its design and performance, recognizing its industry-benchmark 806 lumens of warm white light.
For both homes and businesses such as hotels, replacing high concentrations of 60 watt bulbs with the new Philips offering could save up to 80% of the energy used by other conventional light sources. With a lamp lifetime 25,000 hours it is also one of the longest lasting lamps on the market.
The 12 watt Philips MASTER LEDbulb is a “Green Flagship” product - the best environmental choice when measured against either its competition, or in application and is just the latest in the Philips portfolio of energy saving retrofit bulbs available in professional and consumer channels.
