Jakarta, Indonesia — Royal Philips Electronics (NYSE: PHG, AEX: PHI) aims to improve the quality of people’s lives through meaningful innovations, including lighting solutions. As a funding corporate member in the establishment of GBCI (Green Building Council Indonesia), Philips positively welcomes the formation of a formal Rating System in Indonesia – called GREENSHIP – which is used as the benchmark to evaluate a building before it is given the Green Building Certification. One aspect of the GBCI GREENSHIP Rating System includes energy efficient solutions. Philips Lighting enables money saving and sustainability increase, by using state-of-the-art LED lighting technology to minimize energy use and carbon emissions.

LED is transforming the nature of lighting by opening up new possibilities for how and where artificial light is used to enhance the human experience. Philips creates lighting that brings more value, more beauty, more safety, more visibility, and do so with much less heat, less wattage, and less environmental impact.
The Suramadu Bridge is a beautiful example of how Philips LED lighting has helped in transforming the landmark not only into a magnificent object but at the same time also a safe one, giving a feeling of pride to the community in Surabaya and surrounding areas.
Another beautiful example would be the Water Fountain in Palembang. Philips LED lighting has truly transformed the water fountain into a masterpiece of beauty, a delightful object to look at as the night falls and the colorful LED lightings start to show their charm.
“As leader in lighting technology, Philips wants to inspire the public to contribute to the Green Building movement. We believe in energy-efficient lighting solutions that reduce environmental impact and save costs, while also increasing quality and productivity,” closes Riris.
