Philips paints with light: spectacular ‘Night Exposition’ revealed in the Rijksmuseum

Visible from the passage under the museum until April 8th, 2015

    March 26, 2015

Amsterdam, the Netherlands – Starting today and for a period of two weeks only, the largest portraits of the Rijksmuseum, painted in light, will be on display each evening in the Atrium of the museum. The ‘Night Exposition’ is organized by Philips, founder of the Rijksmuseum, as a tribute to the unequalled master of light, Rembrandt – who is now on display in the Philips wing of the museum in the Late Rembrandt exhibition

The exposition features the 17 winners of Philips’ Dutch Masters of Light campaign. The light art portraits were ‘painted’ by light artist Eelco van den Berg and clearly show the modern possibilities of LED. Each evening until April 8th, the exposition will create a spectacular lightshow, visible from the passage under the museum.
