Sydney, Australia – Royal Philips, (NYSE: PHG; AEX: PHIA), the global leader in Lighting, has announced that from May 30 Philips Hue will be available through 100 Harvey Norman stores nationally. This poplular connected lighting system for the home allows consumers to personalise their home lighting experience using their smartphone or tablet. They can tune the high quality light to any shade of white and create amazing light experiences, choosing from 16 million colours and accessing more than 120 apps developed by third parties.
Harvey Norman will stock the Philips Hue starter pack (RRP $249) and individual Hue bulbs (RRP $69). The starter pack includes three Hue LED light bulbs that simply screw into existing lamps, and a bridge that plugs into a home Wi-Fi router.

Philips Hue allows consumers to create lighting experiences for daily, personal and extraordinary moments. They can tune the bright white light for day in day out tasks, such as cooking or reading. Using colored lighting, consumers can create light that enhance a personal experience, from reliving a memory to using an app that sync Hue to music for a disco ambiance. Philips Hue also allows for the extraordinary, the immersive moments. Light that gets you into a movie, flash when your favourite team scores a goal and apps that simulate a fireworks show are just a few examples.
The Hue app is available for iOS and Android, with the most recent app update featuring location-based functionalities and productivity tools such as alarms and timers.

Philips Hue was launched in Australia in May 2013 in an exclusive arrangement with Apple through its 20 local stores as well as online. The distribution expansion now means Australian consumers can purchase Philips Hue online and offline at one of 120 locations across the country.
