If the incumbent driver in the luminaire is a built-in driver, then the replacement driver needs to be installed in the same manner and built into the luminaire.
The driver should always be mounted in an appropriate UL closure. The enclosure can be installed remotely by following the remote mounting guidelines as per the Design-In guide for the driver.
