CAIRO - Under the auspices of Eng. Ibrahim Mahlab, Minister of Housing, Utilities and New Urban Communities, and as part of Emaar Misr’s commitment to environmental stewardship and nature conservation in all its projects, the company has entered into contract with Philips to apply its innovative Solar-Powered LED street lighting solution in Mivida the fully integrated community located next to the AUC campus in New Cairo. This pioneering initiative is dedicated to minimizing carbon dioxide emissions, improving energy efficiency and promoting the concept of sustainability.
Mr. Mohamed El Dahan, CEO of Emaar Misr, said “the 1st phase of the project, which has already begun, is scheduled to be completed in conjunction with the Mivida homes upcoming delivery, where hundreds of lamp posts will be installed covering an area of 17.6 km ".
He emphasized, “This contract is a tangible step toward fulfilling the company’s futuristic vision, while helping achieve the government energy management initiative through reducing electricity consumption and advancing the use of renewable energy sources to improve energy and overall quality of life.”
